IndianaUploaded will host a variety of different public, private, and government sponsored competitions that are open to all visual art forms that have the ability to be uploaded to our website. All Indiana high school students, college students, and professionals can enter our non-scholarship based competitions; however, in order to enter a scholarship based prize, the participant must be either a high school student who has been officially accepted to an Indiana College or design institution, or be currently enrolled as an Indiana college student.
Any current Indiana high school student can enter, participate, and win an IndianaUploaded competition! Upon winning a scholarship based competition, a high school student will be required to prove that they are enrolled in an Indiana college or design Institution, as well as provide a copy of acceptance to the Indiana college of their choice. Student’s who win will be given the scholarship award upon the first term of their college experience. Also, all winning high school students are required to take part in our ‘Featured Artist’ section upon winning a competition.
Any currently enrolled, full-time (12+ credit hours a semester) Indiana College student can enter, participate, and win an IndianaUploaded competition! Upon winning a scholarship based competition, the student will be required to prove that they are enrolled in a Indiana college or design Institution, as well as provide a copy of transcript and student Identification card. Also, all winning college students are required to take part in our ‘Featured Artist’ section upon winning a competition.
All Indiana Professionals are encouraged to compete in any of our non- scholarship based competitions, but are ineligible to compete in any of the scholarship based competitions. Professionals can still stand to benefit greatly from participating and critiquing with the IndianaUploaded community by winning non-scholarship based prizes, such as hardware, software and even cash prizes. The most profitable part of winning as a professional is the public notoriety as a ‘featured artist’ within the IndianaUploaded community. Additionally, it is equally important to realize what type of reputation through professionalism, respect, and critique an individual can gain in the Indiana Uploaded community. (Note: We consider anyone who has graduated and is no longer enrolled full time in an Indiana based college or design institution a professional.)
IndianaUploaded uses a two-fold scoring system that tracks both individual submission votes, as well as each member’s reputation points. The winner of each competition is determined by the number of votes each submission receives from the IndianaUploaded community. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be settled by declaring the participant with the higher number of reputation points the winner. So, in order to be a truly successful in the IndianaUploaded community each member not only has to be talented enough to win votes as the best work, but they must also establish a significant reputation by offering up constructive criticisms on other member submissions. Not only can your work get voted up and down but so can your reputation! By utilizing both votes and reputation point systems to determine winners of competitions, it is our hope to support students and professionals that truly believe in our mission to grow the state’s art community and curb the trend of Indiana’s brain drain.
Submission votes are obtained when another IndianaUploaded member votes on one of your competition submissions. Each member can only vote one time per project within a competition; however, they also have to the ability to take back their vote before the competition’s closing if they choose to do so.
Reputation points are gained (or lost) by critiquing other members’ submissions. Criticism is worth its weight in votes at IndianaUploaded. As you gain votes on your submissions you can also gain a good reputation with other IndianaUploaded members by offer great critiques. Members have the ability to raise and lower reputations ranks if another IndianaUploaded member is offering great or poor critiques. Play fair and your reputation may precede you.
